THE SCHOOL.

The Covid 19 crisis has exposed the shortcomings of our Medicine: biotechnological progress while having unquestionable successes has failed in its ability to extend a hand to those who suffer.
Many people have felt abandoned and subservient to abstract rules.
Many people have felt a lack of clarity in the management of the epidemic.
Many people have felt that they are not getting all the care possible because of a health care system that does not adopt the individual risk/benefit principle as a guide but is subservient to rigid protocols. To ground a new vision of Medicine, one must appeal to the individual ethical impulse that leads to the relationship of helping one's fellow human beings. While remaining within the framework of existing laws, this impulse must not be subject to conditioning of any kind.

Our project:
paradigm shift

In our School, we want to train a new figure of a therapist, in the broadest sense of the term, for the challenge, first and foremost, of chronic-degenerative diseases, the true pandemic of the modern world.
The goal is to treat the patient taking into account his uniqueness, his history and the environment in which he is embedded.
To achieve this, Medicine and Psychology must open themselves to confrontation with other disciplines never considered so far in order to be able, themselves, to acquire also a purpose of changing the context and not only of treating the individual. Changing the context does not mean dissipation of energy but, on the contrary, represents a way to be able to better serve the needs of the sick person.
The expression of illness is the way in which an individual with his history and biological and psychological peculiarities interacts with an environment understood in the broadest sense of the term (from food, to the air he breathes, social, family and work...).
Therapy is recognizing together with the individual seeking help the elements that can be changed to improve the quality and length of life.
It leads to an understanding of the other and requires synthetic thinking capable of understanding.
We believe that such an understanding of the other is therapeutic in itself.
All this must be integrated with the most modern specialized acquisitions in medicine. The literature and scientific medical and psychological studies are fundamental to understanding if and when paths other than those indicated can be taken.
In short, we must seek to train a "new" therapist who:
1. can choose therapeutic paths together with the person seeking help freely: need for philosophical and epistemological training.
2. can recognize and respect in every human being a soul (the emotions and feelings) and Spirit (the values and consciousness).
3. can draw on all the recent knowledge of the relationship between psyche and body and mind and brain.
4. can draw directly on the knowledge of medical science but also of biochemistry and biophysics.
5. can also deal with and choose among complementary medicines using a scientific criterion.
6. is not conditioned by economic and ideological interests of any kind while having to develop in a field where these inevitably exist. They must therefore be recognized so as not to interfere.
7. knows how to deal with the recent acquisitions of quantum medicine in biology and medicine.
8. knows how to make the most of collective contributions such as those expressed by the Medical Community already existing in Ippocrateorg and which will be expressed by similar communities in the psychological field built, of course, on different assumptions.
It is clear that each health care professional will maintain his or her own skills and specializations and worldview but will be able to expand his or her capabilities in breaking old patterns.

In practice
Each topic will be covered by lecturers who not only possess specific expertise but who have also made a value choice in the direction of paradigm shift.
The relationship between lecturers and learners will be based on a deep understanding of values.
During the in-person meetings, more emphasis will be placed on aspects of working with the self and the patient relationship.

School presentation

The Hippocrates School is a Future Lab that targets graduates in Medicine and Psychology, as well as other caregivers with graduate degrees.
Therefore, applications from graduates in disciplines that have involved, for the individual, employment in professional activities related to personal care will also be evaluated.

The duration of the course of study is two years, the average annual amount of hours is 100 hours.
Teaching will make use of online courses and in-person meetings.
The in-person classes will be held for the total duration of a couple of weekends for each year of the course and will focus on work on the self and concrete patient management. The online classes will be usable live or delayed approximately 72 hours after airing.

Participation in at least 50 percent of online and in-person classes will be mandatory for the degree.

At the end of the two-year course of study, a final examination can be taken, through special registration, and after taking the oath of office with reading of the Hippocratic document, the "Memento Hippocratis" Recognition will be awarded.

The course does not qualify for any institutional recognition or even educational credits.

Spin-off

The training course of the Hippocratic School is structured, in its central part, in the focus with respect to our view of the world and ourselves. Inextricably linked to them is the dimension in which we are called upon to operate: that of care.
The course is then accompanied by a series of lectures, which will focus instead on specific themes of even practical utility in the performance of the profession.
Our civilization has now turned toward "medicine of the drug." A medicine that is necessary in some cases but in most cases results in addictive, chronic and side effects. This medical approach also represents a commercial interest, which, of course, prevents the culture of prevention from emerging and making room for itself. We do not want to demonize these aspects, but we want to try to find alternative and/or complementary ways on scientific-philosophical grounds and create the cognitive preconditions for change.
In this area several professionals (physicians, psychologists, nurses, physiotherapists) will present in 40-hour spin-offs some practical clinical-therapeutic aspects related to "personal care."
They will touch on very current topics such as the microbiota, the use of supplements for an inflammatory situation, psychotherapeutic techniques, immunology, and even homeopathy and homotoxicology along with frequency therapies.
